A/B Testing

A/B testing is a technique of comparing two versions of an online platform or application (or their various aspects) to determine which one performs better. Two randomly selected groups are shown different versions of the product (versions “A” and “B”). The one that performs better is chosen as the winner.

A/B testing improves decision-making, increases efficiency, enhances user experiences, and increases revenue. It allows you to make data-driven decisions instead of relying on assumptions or gut feelings. You can also easily test different product variations and implement changes, saving time and resources. A/B testing can also help you identify and remove pain points that users may encounter, guaranteeing higher engagement with the product.

For successful A/B testing, you should set clear goals and objectives, choose the right sample size, and test one variable at a time. It will help you get coherent results and avoid random fluctuations in the data. Results analysis should be done carefully, so take your time to understand what and why led to improvements to make an informed decision about future changes to your product or service.

Remember not to assume that the results of a single test are definitive – it is a continuous process. Also, don’t rely on small sample sizes as they make your results statistically insignificant and don’t ignore the context in which the test is conducted. Most importantly, though, don’t ignore negative results – they provide valuable insights and help you identify areas for improvement.

A/B testing is a valuable tool that optimises your product’s performance and effectiveness. At Flying Bisons, we regularly use it in our projects to enhance your users’ experience.
