What is
UX Audit and
Heuristic Evaluation?
UX Audit and Heuristic Evaluation are two methods used in user experience design to assess and improve the usability of digital products like websites or applications.
Heuristic evaluation is based on Nielsen's heuristics – a set of general principles for interface design. The heuristics are so-called "mental shortcuts" that help users understand the perceived interface without analysing its elements.
Heuristic analysis involves the evaluation of the interface and its operation based on guidelines related to usability, user experience, and graphic design (based on, among others, Nielsen and Molich's heuristics and WCAG 2.0 guidelines).
