To coincide with their rebrand, Kompania Piwowarska asked us to redesign its corporate website, KP.PL. The website needed to communicate clearly who Kompania Piwowarska and brewing are. The company launched the new website three months after developing their new logo.

Problem

The original KP.PL website was overloaded with unnecessary content, which caused a significant slowdown in loading the site, and the navigation itself left much to be desired.

Users visiting the KP.PL website got lost, and failed to achieve Kompania Piwowarska’s aims of communicating with their customers.

Challenge

Our team got the green light to go ahead with the redesign of the KP.PL website. Our task was to refresh the KP.PL website so that the spirit of brewing, and dedication to the brewing tradition, went hand-in-hand with modern design and informative content about the company and its products.

1. Contents

The architecture of the site was a big issue. We had to review all the existing information contained on the site and based on the weight of information presented to us, build the entire site from scraps.

With so many products and so much content from KP.PL, we had to find a suitable way to sort and prioritise the information we’d been given.

2. Intuitive navigation

We designed a non-standard way of navigating the site, reflecting a walk through the brewery. To achieve this, we put the most important information for the user in the navigation bar.

We also wanted to allow the user to be able to access relevant information in smaller chunks, so we created a secondary navigation for each section.

3. Elegant aesthetics

The new page had to be elegant and attractive. We created sets of icons and animations, which meant that we could provide information but also save space for other content. Everything was designed in close consultation with Kompania Piwowarska to go with the rebranding of the whole company.

4. Development

When we were bringing the designs to life during development, we were aiming for two things: pixel perfect quality, and the highest performance across all devices. We used the latest front-end technology, together with an optimisation and quality assurance phase to ensure we achieved both our goals. Additionally, we implemented a custom-made CMS allowing the client to manage and edit the majority of the website content themselves.

Working with Flying Bisons was a big step forward for us. We succeeded at re-designing our whole online presence – including our logo, the order process and overall customer experience.
